Dedicated to helping auto enthusiasts save endangered project cars and parts as well as participate in the legislative process.
I'm sure you are aware that the old car hobby is always under attack from governments at all levels. If it is not the EPA making it difficult to apply an original appearing finish its local zoning laws preventing us from parking a project car in the driveway. This year there are a number of initiatives in legislatures across the country that if passed will make it harder to be part of the hobby.
To defend our selves, We are starting the Obsolete Automobile Rescue League (OARL). The goal will be to get word out at a grass roots level so enthusiasts can share information about laws that will affect them. Please take the time to join our email list. Encourage anyone that you know in the old car hobby to do so as well. Together we can preserve the cars we knew as kids for future generations.
It started as a gripe session after the Hershey Fall Meet a few years ago. With all of the money pouring into the old car hobby, why were we so poorly treated by the government? From crusher laws to restrictive zoning it gets harder to be in this hobby every year.
We all agreed that it would be great if the old car hobbyists could have the kind of pull that the NRA provides gun enthusiasts. While everyone else in that conversation promptly forgot about it, I kept thinking about it. I finally got some time to put toward the project and the Obsolete Automobile Rescue League was born.
